Thank You to Jim Green, former Wasatch County GOP Vice-Chair, and Posting of Vacancy

Dear Republicans of Wasatch County,

Jim Green, the Wasatch County Republican Party Vice-Chair, recently resigned from his position. The Wasatch County GOP Executive Committee wishes to thank Jim for his dedicated service to the Party. We appreciate his positive attitude and willingness to take on any assignment. He devoted countless hours attending state and county central committee meetings and assisting with preparations, set up, and clean up for Caucus Night, Lincoln Day Breakfasts, Conventions, and meetings. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors.

Regarding County Officer vacancies, the County Party Bylaws state as follows:

2.5 Vacancies. In the event of a vacancy in any of the County offices, the County Central Committee shall meet within thirty (30) days after the vacancy occurs and shall appoint a successor by a majority vote. The appointment shall be for the remainder of the term for the office vacated.

We are tentatively planning on holding a special County GOP Central Committee meeting on Tuesday, March 7 at 7 PM in order to appoint another vice-chair. Once the date and details are confirmed, we will send all County GOP Central Committee members a letter and agenda by mail and by email.

Registered Republicans who are Wasatch County residents are eligible to run for this position. During the meeting, interested candidates will give a speech, after which the Central Committee members will cast their vote. Interested candidates need to email Morgan Murdock.

The individual who is appointed as vice-chair will serve until the County GOP Organizing Convention on Thursday, April 27, 2017. At the Convention, all County Party officer positions will be up for election. Individuals who are elected at Convention will serve a two-year term.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Regards,

Morgan Murdock
